Automaticaly changing the default start page in your visitors browser.

By Christopher Miller

Internet Explorer 5 has introduced many new features that web developers can implement to give their site more exposure and a greater number of visitors. One of these new features is the ability to automatically set the visitors start page.

All you need to do is create a link on your site that says, "Make this my start page". Have it link to a page called startpage.html (located at the end of this article). Then you need to simply make a few minor changes to the startpage.html file and you are done.

Give It A Try (This will only work for IE5!!)

You will find comments in the startpage.html page that will direct you as to which changes need to be made. All you really need to do is specify which URL you want to set, and the URL of a destination page.

The only downfall is that it ONLY works in IE5. For those visitors who do not use it, there is a quick tutorial on how to manually set the start page. Enjoy!
