What Will February 2023 Bring to CS:GO Fans?

Since many teams are still finishing their vacations in January, all the main CS:GO tournaments start in February. This season is not an exception because the competitive scene will please fans with a few TIER-1 tournaments and a row of secondary championships that will be enjoyed by the sophisticated viewers in the last winter month.

In February, we will watch IEM Katowice 2023, watch the return of the female Counter-Strike at ESL Impact Katowice 2023, continue following the events at regional tournaments in the Champion of Champions Tour series, and also salute the start of the interesting marathon called ESL Pro League Season 17.

IEM Katowice 2023

One of the most memorable events of the last few years, IEM Katowice 2023, starts on February 1. This year, the organizers moved the start of the tournament to the first date of the month to return fans to the iconic city of Katowice as early as possible.

During two weeks, the best teams from all over the world will be competing for the general prize pool of $1,000,000. Traditionally, the playoffs of the tournament will take place at the legendary venue Spodek Arena, and the coronavirus will not stop ESL from attracting a full house.

Like before, the championship will begin with the Play-In stage where sixteen participants — OG, ENCE, BIG, Sprout, paiN Gaming, Evil Geniuses, Team Spirit, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Cloud9, Complexity Gaming, FURIA, MIBR, IHC Esports, Grayhound Gaming, Permitta Esports, and Fnatic will be fighting for eight slots in the group stage.

Here, the seeded teams FaZe Clan, Team Vitality, Outsiders, Heroic, Team Liquid, NAVI, G2 Esports, and MOUZ will be waiting for their opponents, against whom they will have to compete for six spots in the playoffs.

On February 12, Spodek Arena will show the champion of IEM Katowice 2023, who will earn $400,000 and get a slot in the second important tournament of the season in Cologne.

ESL Impact Katowice 2023

By the end of the main event in Katowice, the organizers will carry out ESL Impact Katowice 2023, the first female tournament in the season. The best teams of its category will meet at the venue International Congress Center to compete for the general prize pool of $100,000.

Viewers will see such teams as Counter Logic Gaming Red, Nigma Galaxy Female, FURIA Female, HSG, NAVI Javelins, 9 Pandas Fearless, Saints, and B4 Esports Female.

Having begun their road from the group stage, four participants will make it to the playoffs, where they will determine the champion of ESL Impact Katowice 2023.

Champion of Champions Tour

The tournaments in the Champion of Champions Tour will also stay on our screens. Various tournament operators were intensifying the intrigue in January, but viewers will see a few iconic tournaments in the series.

First of all, Malta will host the CCT Central Europe Malta Finals on February 16-19. ENCE, forZe, Copenhagen Flames and HONORIS will participate in the tournament at the moment. Besides, the organizers promise to invite a few famous teams, which will compete for the major part of $100,000.

CCT South America Series 4, CCT North Europe Series 3, CCT North America Series 3, and CCT West Europe Series 1 will be carried out in February. Moreover, it is worth waiting for the announcement of the LAN final in South America, in which the strongest teams of the region will take part.

ESL Pro League Season 17

ESL Pro League Season 17 will be back on stage at the end of February. The iconic EPL series will present viewers with the renewed format, having changed the structure of the group stage seriously.

Together with the increased number of participants to 32 teams, viewers will have an unforgettable month of beautiful Counter-Strike. The best representatives of the competitive scene will be fighting for the overall prize pool of $850,000 and a slot in IEM Cologne 2023.

The organizers have already made a draw of the group stage, and each group will include the strongest representatives of Europe, CIS, North America, Brazil, and Asia.

Group A:

  • Outsiders, G2 Esports, Fnatic, Cloud9, IHC Esports, MIBR, Eternal Fire, and Evil Geniuses

Group B:

  • Movistar Riders, Heroic, BIG, SAW, MOUZ, Imperial Esports, FURIA, and Complexity Gaming

Group C:

  • FaZe Clan, Team Vitality, Ninjas in Pyjamas, OG, Grayhound Gaming, Rooster, 00NATION, and paiN Gaming

Group D:

  • Natus Vincere, Team Liquid, Team Spirit, Astralis, forZe, ATK, ENCE, and Rare Atom

Moving forward, the teams will determine the winner of ESL Pro League Season 17 in March.
