Some players managed to surprise everyone, while others left their fans disappointed. And now, fans are eagerly waiting to see how their favorite players are going to perform in the upcoming season. But today, instead of returning players, we are going to talk about some new players who are going to play in the league for the first time.
Kim “SP9RK1E” Young-han
The first player that fans are looking forward to see in the upcoming season of the Overwatch League is Kim “SP9RK1E” Young-han. Right after the Overwatch League offseason kicked off, everyone was wondering who is going to pick this player for their team. Every viewer was left surprised with his performance in the Overwatch Contenders Korea, where he managed to become one of the most top-notch players. And when the time came, SP9RK1E decided to go with Paris Eternal. He basically followed his coach Yun “Rush” Hee-won and other teammates to Paris.
Kim “Alarm” Kyeong-bo
The second player on our list is Kim “Alarm” Kyeong-bo. During the past few years, Alarm has remained in Philadelphia Fusion’s Overwatch Contenders team, Fusion University. During his time, he has played really well. Because of this very reason, many fans were wondering why they weren’t giving him a chance to play in the main league. But now, he has been finally picked up for the Overwatch League.
Alarm has also been a part of the four Fusion University’s Contenders championship wins. In addition to this, he also helped his team with winning the Atlantic Showdown. As the latter has now turned 18, he is eligible for the Overwatch League. His exceptional performance in Contenders makes him one of the players to look forward to in the upcoming season.
Lee “Whoru” Seung-joon
Lee “Whoru” Seung-joon is going to make his first appearance in the Overwatch League during the upcoming season as a part of New York Excelsior. However, one thing everyone should know is that he isn’t an ordinary player. In fact, Whoru has been a part of the Overwatch competitive scene since early 2017. He was a part of Lunatic-Hai and he competed in APEX with them. Afterward, he was picked up by Fusion University where the latter gained further experience.
Fusion University has loaned him to a number of different Overwatch Contenders teams and he is regarded as one of the best DPS players out there. And now, he has been finally unleashed in the Overwatch League.
In any case, there are going to be a lot of new faces in the upcoming Overwatch League. Some of them are going to surprise everyone with their skills, while others are going to break some records. The upcoming season of the Overwatch League is surely going to be really amazing as it is going to feature some of the biggest matches.
