E-sport competitions have been conducted since the early 1970s. The evolution of E-sports has been fascinating, especially over the past few years. What used to be considered a hobby became a major attraction to all young children in the late 90s. With improved graphics, better controls, and more features, games began to attract a huge number of players. As technology evolved, these games became available across different platforms. So much was the hype that people were not only playing them but also cueing up to watch the best players in the world play their favorite games. These tournaments were being played on an international level and were being broadcast on television and eventually on the internet. In the last few years, there has been a sudden boom in the E-sports industry, with battle royale games like PUBG and Free Fire being available for free on smartphones with minimal requirements. Perhaps the most awaited event for Asian gamers this year, this mega spectacle will offer a variety of games like PUBG, Dota 2, Street Fighter 5, League of legends, and so on. This will be hosted by China this year between September 10 and September 25. The medals earned by the top players will be added to the total tally of the country’s medals.

Although not confirmed yet, the FIFA e-World Cup and COD Mobile World Championship are also rumored to take place this year.
